What we make
AlcheClip turns long YouTube videos and uploaded files into 9:16 vertical shorts with word-level burned-in captions, Lanczos scaling on paid plans, color grading, denoising, and unsharp masking applied during render. Output is delivered as individual H.264 MP4s, with ZIP delivery on paid plans.
Why we built it
Most AI clip generators optimize for clip count. They will return 30 clips from a one-hour podcast, and 28 of them will look like AI auto-captioned screenshots. We took the opposite approach: return fewer clips, make every single one look like a top-creator hand-cut it. Word-level karaoke captions, real color grading, real enhancement on every clip. Output that converts on mute.
Where we sit in the market
AlcheClip is positioned as the quality-focused alternative to Opus Clips and similar AI clip generators. The workflow is identical (paste a link, get captioned shorts) but the finish quality and usage model are deliberately different:
- Output quality. Every clip ships through a studio-grade enhancement chain — Lanczos 1080p upscaling, unsharp masking, hqdn3d denoising, contrast/saturation/gamma color grading.
- Captions. Word-level karaoke-style burned captions on every clip, generated from OpenAI Whisper word timestamps. No add-on, no upgrade, no template gallery — one excellent default style applied automatically.
- Pricing. Free, Creator, and Pro plans with monthly enhanced-processing credits, plus explicit credit packs for heavier months. Cancel any time.
- Privacy. Source uploads auto-delete after 30 days. We never train models on user content and never resell footage.
How it works under the hood
Behind the scenes, AlcheClip uses OpenAI Whisper for word-level transcription, our own scoring model for hook detection, and an FFmpeg-based pipeline for cropping, enhancement, and caption burn-in. The pipeline is orchestrated through Inngest with each step independently retryable. Storage lives in private Supabase buckets behind signed URLs. Subscriptions are handled by Stripe.
