Privacy Policy

Effective April 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data AlcheClip collects, how we use it, and the controls you have. We deliberately collect as little as possible. We never train AI on your content and never sell your footage.

1. Who we are

AlcheClip (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the website at https://alcheclip.com and the AI clip generation service available through it (the “Service”). For any privacy-related question you can reach us at support@alcheclip.com.

2. What we collect

Account data

When you sign up we collect your email address, the authentication provider you used (email + password, or Google OAuth), and an internal user ID. If you upgrade to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) records your billing details — we never see your full card number.

Content you submit

Videos you upload, YouTube URLs you submit, and the clips, transcripts, thumbnails, and zip archives our pipeline produces from them. These files live in private object storage with per-user access controls. Longer videos generate the same types of files, only larger; we do not retain them any longer than shorter videos.

Usage telemetry

Standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, request path, response status), used to diagnose abuse and pipeline failures. We do not use third-party analytics that track individual visitors across the open web.

Credit ledger

We keep an immutable record of every credit transaction (monthly grants, pack purchases, job debits, refunds, and adjustments) tied to your account. This ledger is retained for as long as your account exists so we can resolve billing disputes and prevent fraud.

3. What we do with it

  • Run the clip generation pipeline you asked us to run.
  • Bill you accurately and prevent payment fraud.
  • Send transactional email about your account and your jobs.
  • Detect, investigate, and stop abuse of the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations when we receive a valid request.

4. What we do not do

  • We never train AI models on your uploads or clips. Whisper transcription and title/description enrichment happen against OpenAI's hosted API under standard API terms; OpenAI does not retain that audio or text for training.
  • We never sell or share your videos with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party that resells data.
  • We never apply a watermark on the Creator or Pro plan. Pixels are yours.
  • We do not post to social platforms on your behalf. We may generate suggested captions, titles, and hashtags that you can copy and paste into TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or elsewhere, but we do not store credentials for those platforms and we do not publish content for you.

5. How long we keep things

Source videos, generated clips, transcripts, and zip archives auto-delete 30 days after the job is created. This is non-negotiable and applies to every plan including Pro. If you need a clip after 30 days, re-upload the source. We'll happily re-process it.

Account email, credit ledger, and billing records are retained for as long as you maintain an account, plus the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years). If you delete your account, we purge your credit ledger and usage events within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain them.

6. Sub-processors

We use the following third parties to run the Service. Each is bound by their own contract and privacy policy:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, realtime messaging.
  • Vercel — application hosting and serverless compute.
  • Inngest — orchestration of the clip-generation pipeline.
  • OpenAI — Whisper audio transcription and GPT-4o-mini caption enrichment. Calls run under OpenAI API terms with no training opt-in.
  • Stripe — subscription billing, payment processing, and credit pack purchases.
  • Pexels — stock-footage search for optional B-roll suggestions. We send generated search queries (not raw transcripts or videos) to the Pexels API.
  • Upstash — rate limiting (no content stored, only request counters).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR for the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA for California, and similar regimes elsewhere) you have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these, email support@alcheclip.com from the address tied to your account. We respond within 30 days.

8. Children

AlcheClip is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete the account.

9. International transfers

Our infrastructure runs in the United States. If you access AlcheClip from outside the US, your data is transferred to the US for processing. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with our sub-processors.

10. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies for authentication (your Supabase session) and security. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

11. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when we materially change how we handle data and update the effective date at the top. For changes that affect existing users, we'll email account holders.
