Terms of Service

Effective April 25, 2026

These Terms govern your use of AlcheClip. By creating an account or running a clip job, you agree to them. If anything here is a dealbreaker for you, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

AlcheClip is an AI-powered video clip generator hosted at https://alcheclip.com. You submit a YouTube URL or upload a video file; our pipeline transcribes, scores, crops, captions, color-grades, and encodes a set of vertical short-form clips and returns them to you.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use AlcheClip. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity on your account. Tell us at support@alcheclip.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Plans, billing, and renewals

  • AlcheClip currently offers a Free tier, a Creator plan ($49/month), and a Pro plan ($149/month).
  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You can cancel any time from the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes. Stripe collects taxes where required by law.
  • We may change pricing for new signups at any time. Existing subscribers are given at least 30 days' notice before a price change applies to their plan.

4. Credits

AlcheClip uses a credit system to meter compute usage. Standard enhanced clipping consumes 2 credits per minute of source video, rounded up. Credits are reserved when you create a job and captured or refunded based on the actual source duration.

  • Monthly grants. Free plans receive 10 credits per month; Creator plans receive 300 credits per month; Pro plans receive 1,200 credits per month. Monthly grants do not roll over and reset at the start of each billing period.
  • Credit packs. You may purchase one-time credit packs through Stripe. Pack credits do not expire while your account is active.
  • No cash value. Credits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred between accounts, or resold.
  • Refunds for unused packs. If you purchase a credit pack and have not used any of those credits, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase. Partially used packs are not refundable.
  • Chargebacks and fraud. If we detect credit fraud (e.g. automated reservation abuse, attempting to drive balances negative), we may suspend your account and void associated credits without notice.

See our Refund Policy for the full details. Briefly: if AlcheClip materially fails to perform within the first 7 days of a paid plan, we'll issue a full refund on request.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Process content you don't have the right to use (copyrighted material without permission, private recordings of others, etc.).
  • Generate clips of CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that targets a person for harassment.
  • Generate election disinformation, fraudulent endorsements, or other materially deceptive content.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or hammer the Service in a way that degrades it for others. The rate limiter is there for a reason — please don't try to defeat it.
  • Resell AlcheClip output as “your own AI clipper”. Producing clips for clients is fine; reselling the Service itself is not.
  • Automate job creation, credit reservations, or checkout sessions with bots, scripts, or other unauthorized means.
  • Attempt to manipulate your credit balance, ledger, or usage events through forged requests, replay attacks, or race conditions.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. Severe cases (CSAM, real-world threats) are reported to the appropriate authorities.

7. Your content

You keep all rights to videos you upload and clips we produce from them. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and deliver that content for the sole purpose of providing the Service. We do not train models on your content. We do not resell your content. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.

8. AI output

AlcheClip uses OpenAI Whisper for transcription, GPT-4o-mini for caption enrichment, and our own pipeline for clip selection, captioning, and enhancement. AI output can include mistakes — incorrect words in the transcript, awkward clip boundaries, captions out of sync with audio in edge cases, or inaccurate enrichment suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing clips and copy before publishing them.

We do not guarantee that any clip will go viral, meet platform-specific guidelines, or be suitable for your audience. You are solely responsible for compliance with the terms of service of any platform where you publish clips generated through AlcheClip.

9. Social posting responsibility

AlcheClip may generate suggested titles, descriptions, and hashtags for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. These suggestions are copied to your clipboard; you decide whether to use them and how to publish them. We do not post on your behalf, and we are not responsible for content you publish or any consequences that arise from publishing it.

10. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, infrastructure incidents, or third-party outages (Supabase, OpenAI, Stripe, Vercel, Inngest, YouTube). We'll communicate major incidents via email or our status updates.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by emailing support@alcheclip.com. We may terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, for non-payment after reasonable notice, or if continuing the Service to a specific user becomes legally or technically infeasible.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALCHECLIP'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify AlcheClip against claims arising out of content you submit (e.g. third-party copyright claims) or your violation of these Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to sue in your home jurisdiction.

16. Trademark notice

AlcheClip is an independent product. Names of competing products referenced on this site (such as Opus Clips) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only for comparison and identification purposes. AlcheClip is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of those companies.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms when the Service changes materially. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. For material changes that affect existing users we'll email account holders before they take effect.
